Time to scale up: The Australian Technologies Competition

Australian manufacturing businesses have shown that their products and services are amongst the best in the world and what it takes to carry the economy through a difficult year. Yet many still suffer from lack of visibility and struggle to position themselves globally and attract international customers, partnerships and capital.

The Australian Technologies Competition (ATC) is Australia’s national competition, late-stage accelerator and partnerships program designed to identify and accelerate scaleups with global potential.  Alongside the Federal and Victorian Government, Accelerating Commercialisation, Australia’s Space Agency, Industry Growth Centres, and other industry partners, IMCRC is supporting this year’s competition by sponsoring the advanced manufacturing award category.

David Chuter, CEO and Managing Director at IMCRC, highlights that the competition brings together entrepreneurs, industry and commercialisation experts, investors and government representatives in a collaborative environment to discuss and develop growth strategies.

“The Australian Technology Competition helps businesses that have proven themselves with an innovative idea – being product, service or business model – to find and strengthen their position in the global market. Over the course of seven months, they learn how to prepare and successfully navigate what lies ahead of them.”

Now in its 11th year, the ATC features three rounds of judging for national awards (including Australian Technology Company of the Year), a highly rated Growth Masterclass, specialist growth remediation workshops, free mentoring from successful technology CEOs and senior corporate executives and a ‘finals’ showcase in front of a large domestic and intentional audience, including investors and corporate partners. Finalists and alumni also have access to private investment and partnering events.

Last year’s winners include Contactile (Advanced Manufacturing), Farmbot (Food & Agribusiness), Castlepoint Systems (Cyber Security), HEO Robotics (Space Award) and many other great companies.

Applications are open till 24 May 2021.
